Start-up Loan Program

Stockton Impact Corps (SIC) provides Start-Up small business loans for businesses needing $1,000-$5,000. Loans can be used to purchase equipment, for marketing, and/or specific operations that will help you to get your business off the ground. The goal of the loan program is to increase your business revenue and establish a plan for the new business to succeed.

There are no loan application fees and all consulting is free and confidential.

To submit a loan application, business owners meet and work with SIC Associates (consultants) over a six-week period to complete the following:
  • Week 1: Meet with SIC Associates to tell us more about your business, your plans for financing, how we can help, and preparation for the next session.
  •  Week 2: Based on your needs and how the loan will be used, we will create a “checklist” to take the mystery out of what will be needed for a complete application and an action plan of what you need to work on for the next session.  We will continue to learn more about your business and determine additional ways SIC may be of assistance.
  •  Weeks 3-5: Each week, you will work with SIC Associates for 1.5 hours on your application and general business operations, which may include financial statements, marketing, bookkeeping, insurance, taxes, use of the loan, and more. Consider this a three-week Boot Camp to refine your business operations while putting together your application!
  • Week 6: At this final meeting, we will meet to put together all the documents we have worked on in previous weeks to complete the application.  We will help you to prepare to meet with the SIC Loan Committee where you will tell them about your business, how the loan funds will be used, and your plan for repayment.  The Loan Committee makes the final determination regarding funding the loan.

We understand that businesses cannot get a loan for many different reasons -- whether your business is too new, you only need a small amount of money, or you have bad credit. Stockton Impact Corps works with businesses like yours to provide loans and the support to use funds in a way that will have the best effect as you start up.
Loan Size: $1,000 - $5,000
Duration: 6 months - 18 months
Payments: Monthly
Application Fee: None
Prepayment Penalty: None
Loan Use: Loans are given for a purchase that will increase revenue for the business. This may be a piece of equipment or machinery, a new type of inventory, a piece of advertising, or any business specific use.

Business Plan Writing

Having a business plan is an important aspect of running a business. If you plan to grow your business,  get a loan, or sell your business, a business plan will be needed to show others what you do and how you do it. Stockton Impact Corps works with businesses owners of all types to create a business plan document that they can use for their business.

A business plan is the document that you can use to show to an investor or banker when looking to expand your business, and it is where you look in times of uncertainty or struggle. Business plans do not need to be long documents, they just need to answer the questions of what your business does and how you do it.

Business Plan Sessions can be changed to fit the needs of each business. These meetings usually take place one-on-one between yourself and a member of the Stockton Impact Corps team. Contact us to set up a time to talk about your business and how SIC may be able to help.
